Music Center's 30th Anniversary

In December of 1994, CARS produced this ground-breaking four-day celebration of the Music Center, its constituent company, its theaters and its public spaces. CARS opened up all of the lobbies and public spaces of the Music Center through interactive progrramming including the Music Center Plaza, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Stage and Grand Hall as well as utilizing other public spaces throughout the campus.
This event was sponsored by Robinsons-May and was offered free to the public. More than 20,000 people from throughout Los Angeles took part in unique craft workshops, storytelling, music and dance performances, and a final procession of a 40-foot "Winter Dragon" constructed by Michelle Berne with audience participation.
