Bob Baker Day

Community Arts Resources partnered with Bob Baker Marionette Theater to produce the 11th and 12th annual Bob Baker Day, a free community festival celebrating the legacy of theater founder Bob Baker through puppetry, art, live entertainment, and hands-on activities for all ages at LA State Historic Park.

Community Arts Resources is leading full event production, including vendor coordination, sponsor management, and site planning across multiple festival zones. The festival footprint spans dedicated areas for live performances on the Hooray LA Stage and Puppet Stage, a Vendor Village, a Food Court, and an Activities Area featuring interactive programming and community activations. Community Arts Resources developed the event layout and logistics to create a welcoming, accessible environment for families, neighbors, and visitors throughout the park.

This year's festival features the LA Fair as Grand Marshal, with their beloved mascot Thummer the Pig joining the celebration. Programming highlights include performances by puppetry artists, live entertainment across two stages, a curated Activities Area with art-making and family-friendly activations, and the festival's first-ever Dog Costume Contest. The event brings together local vendors, food makers, and community organizations in a day rooted in creativity, puppetry, and neighborhood connection.
