Artsakh Avenue Redesign for the City of Glendale
Under the guidance of Studio 111, CARS com- pleted tasks one and two (of three) on the design and programming for Artsakh Avenue in the City of Glendale. (Note: phase three is currently in a holding position.) CARS developed an overarching vision for programming that could occur
on this newly designed street, along with the alley based on schematic designs. CARS reviewed programming concepts with Studio 111 to inform design specifics with regards to seating, storage, performance space, shade components, power, lighting, sound and access. Additionally, CARS developed recommendations for a gov- ernance strategy for Artsakh Avenue and the alley. Our outreach included meeting with Library, Arts and Culture and individual commissioners to refine design specifics of the proposed Public Art concepts funded by the Urban Art Fund.
