Getty Family Festivals

Having produced and programmed the 1997 opening celebration and events for the 1998 inaugural year of the Getty Center, Community Arts Resources (CARS) continues to produce J. Paul Getty Museum Family Festivals for the past twenty years - Los Angeles' preeminent family festival. Held at both the Getty Center and Getty Villa, these festivals highlight particular exhibitions, the diversity of Los Angeles, as well as the permanent collection of the Getty Museum. CARS commissions theater performances, site specific work, hands-on workshops, live music, storytelling and self-guided interactive museum tours specifically for these unique events.

CARS has produced more than 90 Getty Family Festivals to date for over half a million attendees.
