We're Hiring! Outreach Team Members for Glendale Open Streets Event

Community Arts Resources (CARS) is seeking Outreach Team Members for our upcoming Let's Go Glendale Open Streets event which will take place on May 31, 2025 from 10am to 4pm.
The ideal candidate is an outgoing self-starter who is comfortable talking to people door to door and who has keen attention to detail and follow through. This is a non-exempt position that involves intensive notification efforts and canvassing of the route, alerting both residents and businesses about the upcoming event and taking detailed notes of any building with blocked driveways or other physical challenges. The Outreach Team Member also needs to collect contact information and any other data for every stakeholder along the route. Additionally, the Outreach Team Member serves as an ambassador for Let's Go Glendale at various community and/or City events. This is a great opportunity for candidates with Customer Service, Hospitality, or Canvassing experience.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Walking the route door to door in a methodical manner to engage with every residence and each business along the 2.3 mile route
- Responsible for extensive contact with stakeholders along the route
- Distribution of notification, parking, driveway and alternative access flyers, postcards and any other collateral information along the route
- Logging detailed notes on an online Google Sheet of all outreach efforts
- Noting any address that has an issue and then communicating issues to Production Team
- Tabling at various community events to represent Let's Go Glendale
- Acting as an ambassador of Let's Go Glendale and representing the organization in a professional manner
- Answering questions regarding Let's Go Glendale
- Working on the day of the event to engage with businesses and residents along the route
- Conduct event and post-event follow-up surveys with businesses along the route
Requirements
- High School education or equivalent
- Commitment to the mission of Open Streets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to go door to door, visiting businesses and residences, for extended periods of time and distance
- Ability to work irregular hours in a fast paced work environment, including weekends
- Works well both with a team and independently
- Customer Service, Hospitality, or Canvassing experience a plus
- Be friendly, outgoing and enjoy engaging with others
- Strong self-direction and ability to take initiative
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity and experience with the City of Glendale
- Armenian language and Spanish language fluency desirable
Job Type: Part-Time, non-exempt (100-140 hours over 4 months, one week in March, one week in April, one week in May, one week in June)
Reports to: Senior Production Staff
Location: Outreach efforts will take place along the route of Let's Go Glendale, primarily on Glendale Avenue and Cerritos Avenue in Glendale.
Salary: $20 - $25/hr commensurate with experience
